Semi-Rare Items

These are what I consider to be only semi-rare, based upon their abundant availability in the world.
The ones NOT owned by Iceweasel (i.e., the ones we WANT!!) are marked with a RED font.
The ones we have are in the black font.

Evil Orc Helm, An
These items appeared during the orc/savage scenario in June/July 2001. They are found as loot on Orc Lords. When equipped, your strength is increased by ten points (even over skill cap of 100). You will lose ten points in dexterity or intelligence, whichever is higher. You will also suffer karma loss. Stats return to normal when helm is unequipped. Karma loss will happen each time you put the helm on again.
Forged Metal
Can be found in the locked chests, crates and strongboxes of some Smithy Shops, mostly Serpent's Hold and Jhelom.
Fruitbasket
Found in an NPC house in Northwest Yew (daily spawn.)
Full Jars
Found in Ocllo.
Fur
Some animals (such as Llamas, Wolves, Bears and Rabbits) used to give fur when skinning them - they were changed to provide leather since Fur was "worthless". Now a semi-rare item and very desirable for housing decorations.
Gargoyle's Pick Axe
No Picture - looks like a regular Pickaxe
Found on Gargoyles as loot and labelled "a gargoyle's pick axe", but when Item ID'd, shows as "a pickaxe of ore extraction." These will double the amount of ore that you mine with it as well as boosting the level of the vein you are mining (i.e., if you are mining a verite vein, it will get boosted to valorite.) Beware, there is a chance that an Ore Elemental may spawn.
Glacial Staff
Obtained from killing ice serpents. Your staff will have two of three modes:

  • Des Corp Del (Ice Ball) - Does about 10-15 damage to the target.
  • In Corp Del (Ice Strike) - Drains all your mana in one go and does damage depending on the mana consumed.
  • An Ex Del (Paralyze) - Will temporary freeze your opponent.

To use the modes, you must say the words of power out loud, double click the staff, and target your victim.

Hair Dye, Retired
NPC Alchemists used to sell colored hair dye untill it was changed to the present gray-ish color.
Horseshoes
Can be found in the locked chests, crates and strongboxes of some Smithy Shops, mostly Serpent's Hold and Jhelom.
Ingots, Reversed
Ingots that face the opposite direction of normal ingots. Found in some Smithy Shops, mostly Serpent's Hold and Jhelom.
Lemons, Limes
Can be found in the locked crates, chests and strongboxes of most Provisioner's Shops.
Mallet & Chisel
These were obtained during an exploit that a lot of people were banned for. Not sure how much they weigh.
Mask of Orcish Kin, A
These items appeared during the orc/savage scenario of June/July 2001. They are found as loot on Orc Mages and on Savages (if the savage has it, you will see him/her wearing it.) Each time this is equipped, you will lose a lot of karma. The upside is that you will appear as "kin" to the orcs and they will not attack you. Be careful when riding mounts into battle against savages while you have an orc mask equipped! If you are knocked off your mount with a bola and your mount attacks an orc, your mask will blow up. If you attack or steal from an orc while the mask is equipped, it will blow up. You will need to wait a short time period until your aggressor flag is gone before equipping another mask of orcish kin.
Masks
Monster loot.
Metal Box, A
These were obtained by an exploit when the co-owner housing option first came out. These can be locked down or used as secure containers. For a while you could use the interior decorator to "turn" the metal boxes and they would become "a strong box" that weighed 100 stones (and therefore couldn't be turned back!) If you dropped the strong box on the floor, you were not able to pick it up again. You could leave it not locked down and it will decay, or you could lock it down or secure it. If you put the strong box on a table or on top of something, you were able to pick it up again.
Necro Regeants
Maybe someday necromancy will be installed and we can use these reagents that spawn. Shown here are bone, blackmoor, deadwood, executioner's cap, fertile dirt and a vial of blood.
No Draw Tile
This item spawned years ago as "loot" on some monsters. It has since then been fixed and become a rare item.
Orcish Bow
These items appeared during the orc/savage scenario of June/July 2001. They are found as loot on Orc Scouts. When used against humanoids, they seem to do double damage (this includes savages, other players, brigands, etc.)
Paints & Brush
Can be obtained by killing artists.
Pair of Sledgehammers
No Pictures
Items are stacked and weigh 250+. Not terribly desirable.
Pewter Bowl, Large
No information at this time.
Plate of cookies
Monster loot.
Purple Plate Helm
This, along with a few other purple hued items, was available for a short time when normal iron armor spawned with incorrect hues on NPC blacksmiths. It's deleted on sight by Game Masters. Do NOT buy this item from someone, it has been declared illegal.
Rock ('a rock')
Found in t2a.
Rocks
Found in Buc's Den.
Rolling Pin
Sometimes found in Baker's Shops, inside crates and locked strongboxes.
Rope
Spawned for a short time on the Magincia docks in 2000, but was stopped by GMs after some "k3wl do0ds" blocked the spawn. Also found elsewhere, unknown at this time.
Rusty Iron Key
For some odd reason, some people consider this rare - it can be purchased at any tinker.
Savage Kin Paint
This item appeared during the orc/savage scenario of June/July 2001. It is made by combining a tribal berry with flour. This can only be done by a cook with 80+ skill. To wear the paint, just double click the pot. The pot will disappear and you will turn white (2d) or be covered with swirls (3d) as well as losing karma. The paint will burn off if you attack a savage or if your pet attacks a savage while wearing the paint. It can be removed with oil cloth or will wear off after a week. It will stay with your corpse if you die.
Scroll, a
Used to be monster loot, now a rare item.
Ship docking deed
No Picture
In the past, when you docked your ship with a harbor master, he would give you a deed that had a picture of a ship on it that said, " docked at Britain docks" or something to that effect. Now you get a ship model when you dry dock, and you don't need a harbor master to do it.
Ship Model
Previously, when you dry docked your boat you would get one of these. Now the graphic is the same, but it's title is more specific. Example: "a small dragon ship with no name".
Statues
Different then "a magic statue", these simply say "a statue" when single clicked. They are new with UO:TD and are found on pixies and rat man mages as loot. There are four different statues; seven if you count that three are flipped over and facing the oppposite direction.
Stretched Hide
No Picture
These were obtained with an exploit that a lot of people were banned for. Not sure if these are available outside of containers or how much they weigh, but they are pretty heavy. You can, of course, smash the box that they are in and they will become unmovable.
Strong Box, A
Not to be confused with "a metal box", which is facing the opposite direction.
Tool Kit
Can be found in Tinker's shops inside locked chests, crates and strongboxes.
Tribal Berry, A
No picture
This item appeared during the orc/savage scenario of June/July 2001 and is found as loot on female savages. It can be used to make savage kin paint by combining with flour. This can only be done by a cook with 80+ skill. Not edible.
Tribal Mask
This item appeared during the orc/savage scenario of June/July 2001 and is found as loot on savages. You can see them wearing the masks and get an idea of what color it is before you kill them. There are 29 different colors -- the one on the bottom right is the old tribal mask.
Tribal Spear
No Picture
This item appeared during the orc/savage scenario of June/July 2001 and is found as loot on savages. Not much is known about the spear yet.
Whip
Found in the Ranger Huts outside Skara Brea.
Wire
Can be found in the locked crates and chests in some Smithy Shops.
